Kimbrough Work Program

p_01 p_02

The Kimbrough Work Program offers to the local courts the sentencing alternative of secure facility work release and residential services for male and female nonviolent offenders., Program participants are subject to 24 hour a day supervision, individualized case plans and schedule of rehabilitative services based upon the results of a risk/needs assessment and any conditions of placement that may have been ordered by the court. In select cases, participants may work towards transition to day reporting. In this component, case managers strive to enhance literacy, increase employability as well as supply participants with substance abuse education and cognitive-behavioral treatment to greatly reduce the possibility of re-offense upon release.

Day Reporting Program

p_03 p_04

The Day Reporting Program is a form of intensive supervision that, on the sanctions continuum, lies just below that of work release/residential. It incorporates all the restrictions of a home detention/electronic monitoring program, but includes an individualized case plan and schedule of rehabilitative services based upon the results of a risk/needs assessment, participant's place of residence, participant's offense category and any conditions of placement that have been ordered by the court.

Lake County Indiana - General Information

Lake County Community Transition Court

The Lake County Community Transition Court is a program designed to help individuals transition from the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) back to their community while still being supervised.  The Community Transition Court (CTC) modifies the individuals’ placement to Lake County Community Corrections eight (8) to twelve (12) months prior to their Earliest Possible Release Date (EPRD) from the IDOC.  The idea is to help those individuals reengage in the community by offering more support than they would otherwise have if they were simply released from the IDOC at that time.  Staff works very closely with the participants in obtaining employment, resolving driver’s license issues, healing family relationships, and providing education on developing life skills.

Court Schedule:

Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Lake County Superior Court Criminal Division, Room 1, at the Lake County Government Center in Crown Point, Indiana.
