The Hammond Office does all conversions of Hammond City Infractions from the old 45H04 case number to a new Lake County Division case number. The cases are assigned to the three County Courts. 60%= D07. 25%=D09. 15%=D12

The Hammond Office does all conversions of Hammond City Ordinance Violations from the old 45H04 case number to a new County Division 4 (D12) case number.

The physical files for all Hammond City Infractions and Ordinance Violations are stored at 232 Russell Street.

The physical files for all Hammond City “CM” case types are stored Hammond City Hall at 5925 Calumet Avenue. A trip is made once a week to retrieve requested files.

Cases are only converted by request from attorneys or defendants.
CIVIL/SMALLCLAIMS/ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS:

The Hammond Office does all conversions of Hammond City of “PL” and “CC” case types. The cases are assigned evenly to ALL Lake County Courts.

Cases are only converted by request from attorneys or defendants aside from the automatically converted January 2020 cases.

The physical files for all Hammond City “PL” and “CC” are stored at an outside facility. A trip is made once a week to retrieve requested files.

The Hammond Office does all conversions of Hammond City “OV” case types for Hammond’s Code Enforcement, Animal Control, Parking Violations and are assigned a County Division 4 (D12) case number
